In July, the average PM2.5 concentration across 339 prefecture-level and above cities nationwide was 14.5 micrograms per cubic meter, representing an 8.2% year-on-year decrease. The average PM10 concentration was 28 micrograms per cubic meter, down 3.4% year-on-year. The average O3 concentration was 138 micrograms per cubic meter, up 4.5% year-on-year. The average SO₂ concentration was 6 μg/m³, down 14.3% year-on-year; the average NO₂ concentration was 11 μg/m³, down 8.3% year-on-year; and the average CO concentration was 0.6 mg/m³, down 14.3% year-on-year.
In July, the average proportion of days with good or excellent air quality across 339 prefecture-level and above cities nationwide was 93.0%, up 1.0 percentage points year-on-year; The average proportion of days with severe or worse pollution was 0.2%, down 0.1 percentage points year-on-year. The average proportion of days with exceedances caused by sandstorms was 0.6%, of which 0.2% were days with severe or worse pollution.

In July, among the 168 key cities: The top 20 cities with better air quality were Huangshan, Haikou, Lishui, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Guiyang, Shaoxing, Lhasa, Wenzhou, Kunming, Lu'an, Quzhou, Yichun, Xuancheng, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Jinhua, and Nanchang. The bottom 20 cities with poorer air quality were: Yangquan, Jiaozuo, Lüliang, Hebi, Lanzhou, Linfen, Tangshan, Taiyuan, Xining, Tianjin, Puyang, Kaifeng, Liaocheng, Dongguan, Langfang, Luoyang, Xinxiang, Xingtai, Jincheng, and Shijiazhuang.
In July, among 168 key cities: The top 20 cities with the lowest PM2.5 concentrations were Lishui, Zhoushan, Dazhou, Lhasa, Fuzhou, Huangshan, Ningbo, Huangshi, Haikou, Ezhou, Taizhou, Guiyang, Suining, Xiaogan, Dongying, Wenzhou, Nantong, Kunming, Jinhua, and Yichang. The bottom 20 cities with the highest PM2.5 concentrations were Hebi, Tangshan, Suizhou, Yangquan, Puyang, Lanzhou, Shijiazhuang, Jiaozuo, Anyang, Xuzhou, Kaifeng, Huludao, Taiyuan, Tianjin, Xianning, Sanmenxia, Luliang, Xinxiang, Xinzhou, and Luoyang.
